Take a regular hexagon. Construct segments connecting each vertex to the vertex two
away from it. What shape results?
Compare the area of the original hexagon with the area of your new shape. Explain your
answer.
Extra: What happens when you use the midpoints of the sides of the
original hexagon instead of the vertices? Please explain.
