Way Cool Math Projects at Corona Ave. Elementary (26 November 1996)
A 5th grade class in Bell, California, is working on monthly math projects; they've developed a series of Web pages, some of them interactive, to showcase their work, from Spirolaterals to Toy Story Math. This is the most recent addition to our Student Showcase section, the aim of which is to publicize outstanding student projects.

1997 AMS/MAA Joint Mathematics Meetings (26 November 1996)
This important conference will take place January 8 - 11, 1997, in San Diego, California. We have collected information on sessions and panels having to do with math education and other material on the basis of their relevance to topics being discussed elsewhere on the Math Forum site.

Dynamic Algebra with NuCalc (12 November 1996)
NuCalc, from Key Curriculum Press, is symbolic algebra and graphing software for the Macintosh. These pages present samples from the book, Introducing Dynamic Algebra with NuCalc. Exploring transformations - translations and dilations. Adding up sinusoids to gain experience with Fourier Series.

Featured Student Work: Fractals and Tessellations (5 November 1996)
Eleven 9th-graders from Salt Lake City, Utah have created a gallery of geometric images. From our Student Showcase section.

October Additions to Steve's Dump (1 November 1996)
Over 240 new entries to "Steve's Dump" have been added since October 1. One of these sites, a Fractals Lesson by Cynthia Lanius, has also been selected as the November Hot Spot.
