Nicole Bouttenot '01
Worked on the Project
Nicole will be a sophomore this fall at Swarthmore College.
She graduated from a small high school in Lewiston, Maine in 1997.
Interested in studying Mathematics, Physics, and Astronomy, Nicole
does not have any definite plans for life after graduating from
Swarthmore College. However, she has
a deep interest in children. During the spring of her freshman year,
Nicole became involved in a program called the Summer Community
Learning Project[SCLP]. Besides working for the Mathematics and Statistics
Department this summer, she also spent a week being a counselor at
SCLP's summer overnight camp. For more information about SCLP visit
their web
page.

Professor Chris Towse
Guided the Project
Chris Towse was a Visiting Assistant Professor of Mathematics at
Swarthmore College. His main research interests are in Algebraic
and Arithmetic Geometry, and Number Theory.

Professor Eugene Klotz
Instigated the Project
Professor Eugene Klotz has been at Swarthmore for so long now, he says he
is probably teaching the children of many of his old students.
Aside from being a professor at Swarthmore College, Gene is the
current Mathematics Forum Director and was responsible for instigating this
project. In the Fall Semester, Gene will be teaching Linear Algebra at
Swarthmore.
