Deborah Bass, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the School of Education at the University of South Carolina Aiken. She is a former elementary, middle, and high school teacher in the Aiken County Public Schools. The preservice teachers in mathematics methods this semester will teach in the elementary or middle school. Their teaching internships will be in the spring and fall of 1997.
