Shaffiq Welji

Shaffiq Welji teaches high-school mathematics at The Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia. He holds degrees from the University of Chicago (B.A.) and Columbia University (M.A., M. Phil., and Ph. D). Shaffiq has worked in a variety of capacities in educational development internationally and in the United States. While teaching at The Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa, Kenya he completed a number of mathematics-related projects including curriculum development and professional development. Shaffiq has worked on youth and adult education projects in a various capacities including management, curriculum development, evaluation and training. He has also previously taught at the collegiate level while at Columbia University. In addition to teaching, his mathematics research is in low-dimensional topology, and he coaches his school's robotics team.
