Subject: Front End Estimation

Many children do not have a strong sence of number value. They will
accept any answer the calculator gives. This is fine if they have
entered the correct numbers. Without a quick reliable way to see if
the answer if close, they cannot check accuracy with readding and
readding to see if the anser is the same.

ex. 7091+8221+1089+5984
 front end 7000+8000+1000+5000=21000
calculator 791+821+1000+500=3112

Quickly they cann tell something is wrong.

Adults use this all the time!!
