I suggest reccomending the child into the honors level.  Make sure the
child wants to. And if the child is doing poorly in the class, just
switch the child out.  Most kids have to wait until their sophomore
year to double up in geometry and Algebra II, which is very stressful
and most of the time takes the fun out of school.  At least give the
child a chance in the class.
