Subject: basic addition

It is ok to start with finger counting but is can slow the student
later on. Help her transfer finger counting to number counting. this
can be done with finger paint. Make large numbers 1 to 9 each on its
own page. have her put finger paint on the end of two fingers and
have her put one dot for each finger beside the number symbol 2. (you
can get the dot pattern from the dotmath website) Do this with all the
numbers to 9 and it will help her understand what the number sybols
mean.

If you want to know more about this system you can look at the DOTMATH
for kids web site at www.dotmath.tripod.com
