If you are to extend this to 3D to gain higher marks, then you should
be using Sigma. Oce you have the formula, you can easily find in a
textbook or internet how to remove the sigma so you are left with a
big fat nth term which, after hours of multiplying out and simplifying
will give you a short simple answer.
