The word means triangle measurement. Trig becomes important in the design of bridges, buildings because triangles are fixed by the length of the three sides. A triangle will not change shape under normal conditions because three sides of a particular length guarantees the shape of the triangle. It is this property that makes the triangle a strength feature of almost all construction. Almost any thing of strength will have triangles as part of their construction. The study of triangle relationships is used in electrical engineering as well. The position of antennas, turrets and other devices can be relayed to other stations by the means of snychros. This is all based upon trigonometry relationships. Anything that rotates requires trigonometry to completely understand what is happening. This includes motors, generators and other devices. Trigonometry is an integral part of geometry, calculus and other subjects in mathematics.
