Is there a MATHCOUNTS team at your school? MATHCOUNTS is a nation-wide competition program for 7th and 8th graders. Go to www.mathcounts.com and register your school. You will be sent materials that he will be able to work on during class. Contact your state coordinator and ask how your student can participate in the state competition. Also ask your high school math coordinator about other competitions that he can participate in. There are AJHSME's (American Junior High School Math Exams) that he can participate in. There is the ARML (American Regional Math League). Good luck.
