Subject: metric conversions
I have my stidents set up their measurements in proportion form
always going through the basic unit.
Example: 8.32 Kilometers = ____meters
Kilometers 1 8.32
_____ = ______
Meters 1000 X
X = 8.32 (1000)
X = 8320 meters
By the way - Kilo means 1000
and 7.89 meters = ________kilometers
kilometers 1 X
____ = _____
meters 1000 7.89
7.89 = 1000 X
7.89 / 1000 = X
.00789 kilometers = X
