From: Krishnan <krishnan_bv@yahoo.com> To: Teacher2Teacher Public Discussion Date: 2005060707:44:40 Subject: Re: Differences in permutations and combinations The way to differentiate between permutations and combinations is by saying that if you can physically differntiate between objects then you use Perumations else use Combniations for exampe if you are rearranging people in a row, then you use permutations And if you are arranging balls, blue, red, etc... then you do not differentiate between individual balls (as they are alike) so you use combinations
