From: Lorna <lebabcock_1@yahoo.com> To: Teacher2Teacher Public Discussion Date: 2002121504:18:58 Subject: Russian Method to 4 Operations Hello, Perhaps you can help me understand how the Russian children approach math. A dyslexia specialist mentioned in an e-mail that this wholistic, mental math approach is so much easier for children who find the digit-by-digit approach to math difficult to master. Would you be kind enough to point me to some sources as well? Many thanks and happy holidays, Lorna
