Subject: Re: Square Roots

You can find an illustration of several "old" hand methods to find square roots, as well as the geometry of why they work (makes it easier to remember how to do) as well as some notes on cube roots and some old textbook images at http://www.pballew.net/etyindex.html Under the alphabetical index select "S" and look for Square root methods of ancients... Hope that is helpful. Pat
