Subject: long lasting tradition

In my opinion, it is a long lasting tradition to view math as mere
calculations rather than seeing it as patterns and relationships. To
change this view, the role of geometry in the history of mathematics
may be good topic to start with. Then, a good combination of figures
and numbers may help.
