Subject: Re: maths;order of operations

One example I like demonstrate is how 4 function calculators ignores
order of operations.

On a 4 function calculator, key in 1 + 4x9 and push enter. The
answer comes incorrectly as 45.

On a scientific calculator, key in 1 + 4x9 and push enter. The answer
comes out corectly as 37.

The simple four function calculator incorrectly adds 1 + 4 before
multiplying.
