Factors of repetition would still exist. Hmmmm?! It would be interesting to take some swatches of plaids and analyze them for arrays in class. Interesting, too, to use fabric representations of arrays, allowing children to experience cutting cloth and seeing the differences in stamped vs. woven patterns--an adaptation an art class might use to support mathematical concepts. rrw
