I suppose having the kids draw circles using compasses and then use protractors to mark the appropriate angles; then have them cut all them out would be a perfect intro to operations with fractions. But using compasses and protractors comes much later in the pacing plan. However, the above project would provide good motivation for students to correctly learn how to use these tools...then when geometry comes later, they'll get the concepts faster(I HOPE!)
