The algebra 1 text spirals to distraction. In addition, it creates all sorts of artificial models for addition, subtraction, etc that offer little, if any value, to a student's algebra skills. Then, suddenly at the end of the book comes the real meat of the subject. By then, kids are counting the days until the end of the year, just as the subject becomes much more rigorous. Terrible algebra book.
