How about an index card, taped to his desk with "FOCUS" or another magic word? These could rotate weekly, if necessary. Use bright colors to be eye- catching, even have him design the card himself. That way he will have a small reminder when he starts to slow down. Maybe he would even get in the habit of writing FOCUS at the top of his test papers. -Susan, for the Teacher2Teacher service
