If that feels right to you in terms of keeping all the kids working and making you available to circulate, it is fine, especially if there is a wide range of abilities in your class. But interaction about the math they are doing is very important. If you use such an individualized program, please be sure to have students who are on the same topic check and discuss their work together, or work on projects together. Or have individuals prepare projects occasionally and present them to the whole class. Have days where everyone is doing geometry puzzles or playing "24" or tangram, or problem solving, and on those days try grouping them with others who are not at the same place in the text.
