The students are having difficulty rounding decimals to the nearest tenth and hundredth. They tend to round decimals to the nearest whole number. When given the number 2.18 and told to round to the nearest tenth, students tend to round to 2 instead of rounding to 2.2. With the hundredths, when given the number 3.456 and told to round to the nearest hundredth, students round to 3 instead of rounding to 3.46.
