I did a metacrawler search and found a reference from a listserve. The message mentions a book entitled: CGI Cognitively Guided Instruction - Children's Thinking About Whole Numbers, written by Thomas P. Carpenter, Elizabeth Fennema and Megan Loef Franke. The message goes on to say that you can obtain the book and inquire about training opportunities by writing or calling: Wisconsin Center for Educational Research School of Education, UW-Madison 1025 W. Johnson Street, Madison, WI 53706. I do not know if that address is still current, but it is worth a try. For an article about CGI math, go to http://www.wcer.wisc.edu/Publications/WCER_Highlights/Vol.6_No.4_Fall_1994 Geometry_engages_students.html Hope this helps! :-) -Gail, for the Teacher2Teacher service
