How can I help students to see how the chosen unit of measurement will influence the number of units needed? Knowing that children commonly have misconceptions about the relationship of unit size and units needed to make a one-dimensional measurement, what type of difficulties do you think the students will have when making other types of measurements (2D and 3D measurements)?
