Subject: Tessellation Tutorials on the Web

Suzanne Alejandre has written a series of Tessellation Tutorials that have
been used by students from second grade through high school. See:

Tessellation Tutorials:

http://forum.swarthmore.edu/sum95/suzanne/tess.intro.html

For lessons on symmetry related to tessellations, see Where's the Math?: The
Four Types of Symmetry in the Plane and Repeated Reflections of an "R":

http://forum.swarthmore.edu/sum95/suzanne/wheremath.html

Examples of tessellations created by students who have used these tutorials
are on the Web at:

http://forum.swarthmore.edu/alejandre/students.tess.html

For examples of the work of very young students in grades 2 and 5, see the
submissions from Waiau Elementary School in Pearl City, Hawaii:
