My daughter is in the 8th grade and is trying to understand scatter plots, how data would read on the graph showing a positive, a negative, or no relationship determination? Also, How do you read the graphs to show a correlation between variables? i.e., outside temperature and cost of air conditioning number of minutes a candle burns and the candle's height I cannot draw a graph here, but if the points were to be scattered over the lower left quadrant of the graph and scatter across in an upward movement to enter the upper right quadrant, how would you determine the correlation of the variables? This is a child who is very intent on 'getting the answer' and not understanding. I need resources to help her to understand when she does not have a good rapport with her teachers. Help!
