I am looking for creative ways to help 30 bottom students learn pre-algebra in a 90 minute block schedule format. The students are not usually motivated, have short attention spans, and have tested at the bottom of standardized testing <FCAT>. My resources consist mainly of the standard Addison-Wesley Pre-Algebra set of textbook centered worksheets and tests. My principal is an English teacher who thinks of math as the impossible puzzle and can't give any suggestions other than she wants something innovative and effective.
