Jeanne has givien you a great number of ideas and resources. Here is another activity you might try, depending on the size of the pumpkins and the resources you have available. You may be able to find the volume by filling a container, submerging the pumpkin, and then measuring how much water was displaced. This would be difficult with large pumpkins, but you could do it with small pumpkins to give them the idea of what volume is all about, and then try some of the ideas Jeanne has suggested. -Gail, for the T2T service
