From our PoW archives: The Length of Larry's Rectangle I have an interesting rectangle here. If I cut a square off it, the remaining rectangle is similar to the original one (same shape, different size). If the width of my rectangle is one meter, what is its length? Only exact answers will be accepted (since the answer is irrational, a decimal number will not be correct)! Bonus: As we all know, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter is represented by the Greek letter pi. Well, the ratio of the length of Larry's rectangle to its width is also represented by a Greek letter. What is that letter? (Cite the source where you found it.)
