From our PoW archives: The Oval Braided Rug A few weeks ago I was visiting my parents and we were discussing how to clean an oval braided rug. They only wanted to clean the red part of the rug and needed to know its area in order to mix the correct amount of cleaning solution. The width of the red part of the rug was 1 foot; the rug was 6 feet wide and 12 feet long. Find the area of the red part of the rug. Be sure to explain how you found your solution.
