From our T2T archives: Algebra Activity Is there any kind of activity to show that (a+b)^2=(a+b)(a+b)? If you have any suggestions, please let me know. This activity is intended for a high school algebra class. . . . Algeblocks show the geometric model for algebraic equations. My students set up a multiplication problem by building a rectangle that has sides the lengths of the two factors...You can also use a graphing calculator. Have the students graph (x+2)^2 listed at y1 and x^2+4 in y2. When they see the graphs are not equal, have them try x^2+4x+4 to get the same graph.
