About the Program

Drexel’s Graduate Programs in Mathematics Learning & Teaching is designed for current middle and high school mathematics teachers as well as mathematically inclined elementary teachers. The Mathematics Learning and Teaching program is designed to support teachers in teaching mathematics where students learn with understanding. The program is designed around supporting teachers to enact the Mathematical Practices of the Common Core in their classrooms and includes courses with explicit focus on reasoning and sense making in school mathematics, the use of technology in teaching mathematics, and problem-based instructional practices. Throughout the program, students continue develop deeper and unpacked understandings of the middle and high school curriculum and within a community of practice model emphasizing the importance of collaboration and lifelong learning.
