Julie Pollard

My name is Julie and I just completed my first year of teaching at Gordon Lee HS in Chickamauga, GA. Yes, it is a very small town and I do not doubt that you have never heard of it, even though a famous Civil War battle was fought there. To give you an idea of where it is, Chickamauga is about 15 miles south of Chattanooga, TN. I don't live in the town myself (too small for me). I live on the TN-GA border in Rossville.

This past year I taught Algebra II and Pre-Algebra. Learning to cope with ninth graders was quite a learning experience for me, one I never want to go through again. Unfortunately, I will have them again next year in my Applied Math class (a hands-on math lab class).

I am excited about being here at the workshop because I am not the most computer literate person. I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn all this information about Internet and have access to so much material. (And I don't even have to pay for any of it! :-) ) We have only completed out first day and I have already learned so much. It has even been fun and enjoyable, which makes it much easier taking a week long class in the summer.

Hope to be able to share and receive lots of great information with you!
