The Math Forum is the leading online resource for improving math learning, teaching, and communication since 1992. We are teachers, administrators, mathematicians, researchers, students, and parents using the power of the Web to learn math and improve math education. We offer a wealth of problems and puzzles, online mentoring, professional development programs, research, team problem solving, and "Ask Dr. Math," our popular ask-an-expert service. Students have fun and learn. Educators share ideas and acquire new skills. We are looking forward to talking with you about:

- Problems of the Week
Our service is built around a collection of creative, non-routine challenges that you can use to get your students thinking, talking, and doing mathematics. Your students will learn flexible, adapative problem-solving skills and build their mathematics communication capabilities. Working with these problems will help you analyze student thinking; design responsive instruction based on that thinking; and move your students toward becoming competent, independent problem-solvers.

- Online Professional Development Courses
These moderated courses led by Math Forum professional staff take place online using Blackboard Vista (formerly WebCT) or Blackboard. The only technical requirements are a web browser and Internet access. Current offerings:
- Teaching Math with the Problems of the Week
- Problem Solving Strategies
- Moving Students from Arithmetic to Algebra: One Step at a Time
-
- In the Math Forum's online Technology Tools for Thinking and Reasoning about Probability workshop we investigate some mathematics topics common to middle school curricula within the theme of probability. In this context we will explore the Math Tools digital library and several software tools that contribute in some way to mathematical understanding, problem solving, reflection and discussion. Currently the $100 workshop fee for each participant is paid by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).

- In the Math Forum's online Using Technology and Problem Solving to Build Algebraic Reasoning workshop we investigate some mathematics topics common to middle school curricula within the theme of algebraic reasoning. In this context we will explore the Math Tools digital library and several software tools that contribute in some way to mathematical understanding, problem solving, reflection and discussion. Currently the $100 workshop fee for each participant is paid by a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF).
