COMPUTER AS TOOL

Jwall-keyword=control: I don't understand the driving need for "control," which seems to drive the "tool" vocabulary. Of course teachers need to guide, but if you only have students use what you've "controlled," haven't you denied them important knowledge building? Making mistakes in an uncontrolled environment can be very valuable even if a little messier for a teacher to deal with.
