I am the K-8 mathmematics coordinator for a large school district adjacent to Boston, MA. My interests are diverse, including: meeting the needs of students functioning at the extremes of the curve - delayed and advanced, helping students create and research topics of interest to them, supporting teachers as they implement new ideas in their classrooms.
Currently we have recently adopted the Everyday Math program at grades K-4 and would value hearing how others have personalized this program.
At grades 5-7 we are piloting new materials including the Everyday Math, Seeing and Thinking Mathematics and the Connected Mathmetics Program. We'd be interested in reactions to any of these.
Personnally, I am searching for a disseration question as I continue to pursue a doctorate at Boston University. My area of interest is teacher change as they implement a new program. References relating to this topic would be most appreciated.
I have also had experience writing mathematics programs and activity books for students in grades K-6. Currently I am writing an activiy book about using 2d shapes to explore mathematical ideas at grades 6-8 and looking for ideas.
I am happy to give, as well as, receive information relating to mathematics at K-8.
