I've been a teacher in Newton MA for 13 years. Most of my teaching has been in the eighth grade. Before teaching I worked as a volunteer in the Newton Schools, and as a teacher in community schools. I am the mother of two grown daughters. My husband and children are all very comfortable with math and with computers. (My oldest daughter is a high school math teacher in CA.) I am very comfortable with math, and very uncomfortable with computers, (so far). I am aware of how much more there is for me to learn.
The Swarthmore Math Forum is one of the most interesting workshops I've attended and I look forward to sharing ideas with other teachers, with students, and with people interested in math, art projects, science, science fiction, gardening and murder mysteries.
