Day 1 Summary
We completed our first day of the Institute yesterday and it was mainly a time for everyone to get to know each other. As part of the agenda all of the onsite participants were encouraged to write a reflection of how their first day went and here are a few quotes from those messages:
"I like the size of the group and I feel that we will be able to help one another."
"I enjoyed the tour, meeting all of the participants (especially chatting &
chewing). At this point I don't have a clear idea as a particular project, but I'm sure I will have a plethora of ideas, resources, etc. when these sessions
"The idea that was most important from today was that we had some flexibility with what we will be doing this summer. I came in with the expectation that I would leave here with some better ideas for using the resources of the Math Forum to use with my students."
"The idea that was the most important to me was when Shelly mentioned that the next three weeks' objectives are generated from the group. Yes, we will be directed to discuss and analyze certain features of mathforum; however, we can contribute our own ideas to the betterment of the site."
