General description of school and communities served
San Juan is a suburban high school located just outside of Sacramento. Our students come from many different cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Our diversity is both a source of strength and challenge to our student body, staff and administration.
We were just selected by the State of California to be a "Digital High
School." This means we will receive funding to provide additional
technology and training for teachers. The purpose is to provide better
instruction in the use of technology as well as better access to information
for instruction in all content areas. In addition to the Digital High
School funding, we recently received approximately five million dollars
from the State's modernization program which was invested into the
improvement of our facility. The combined funding has helped us make major
strides towards helping us help our students prepare for the 21st century.
