Tuesday afternoon Suzanne Alejandre shared some fun activities having to do with the special properties of magic squares, many of which used information she collected from her collaboration with Allan Adler. Her collection of Magic Square information is athttp://mathforum.org/alejandre/magic.square.html
Suzanne defined a magic square, and told us how to easily construct a 4x4 Magic Square by counting to 16. You can see this method illustrated at
http://mathforum.org/alejandre/magic.square/adler/adler4.html
Using that magic square, she showed us a method for constructing a 12x12 magic square that was truly amazing! You can see information about this at

Many thanks to Suzanne and Sarah for a terrific lesson.
