Sandy is an eighth grade mathematics teacher at the East Shore Middle School in Milford, Connecticut. She has recently been working with middle school students to create interactive geometry journals on the Macintosh. Sandy has been awarded fellowships to attend a PIMMS technology leadership institute and PIMMS advanced TLI, and in 1995 she was recognized as one of Connecticut's celebrants in the Southern New England Telecommunications (SNET) Celebration of Excellence Program. She has participated in a satellite graduate course, Internet for Educators, and was awarded a grant for her participation in Goals 2000, where she has worked with students, parents, and teachers on preparing a mathematics/map project for the Internet. In 1996, Milford awarded Sandy a mini-grant, Microsoft recognized her as Technology Teacher of the Year in Connecticut, and ATOMIC (Association for Teachers of Mathematics in Connecticut) published her work in the Spring 1996 issue of its professional mathematics journal. Sandy is interested in helping teachers learn how to use technology to implement mathematics programs at various levels in their schools.
