Karen Smith


Karen Smith is a sixth grade math teacher at South Orange Middle School in South Orange, NJ. She teaches two sections of top math classes, a section of Basic Skills Math, and one section of Language Arts, and has unlimited access to the Internet at home and at school. Last summer she participated in a seminar in Middle School Geometry sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and she is currently a graduate student at William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey working toward a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Learning Technologies, a program that focuses on integrating technology into all phases of the curriculum. Her school is equipped with two computer labs that have Internet access, and she tries to use technology in her classes as much as possible.
