Jill Moser teaches at Roosevelt High School, one of five high schools in the district, with an enrollment of 1600. It is the most culturally diverse school in the state with 30 percent minorities: Sudanese, Bosnians, Southeast Asians, etc.
Jill teaches Algebra I and II. She has tried to have a project for each chapter for Algebra II and to require a portfolio for each student, each semester.
Jill received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics in 1992, and was a finalist for Iowa Teacher of the Year in 1995. She is currently writing for Iowa Public Television, an integrated curriculum on the Mississippi River, and for ACT testing.
