Objectives: The following activities meet objectives found in the 7th grade South Carolina Mathematics Curriculum Standards .

Introduction

Materials

Two differently colored dice (number generators)

What To Do:

Make a prediction about which sum of two number generators will appear the most times when you roll the dice.
Each person in the group should collect the information generated from this activity. Decide as a group if each person will take a turn rolling the dice or if one person will roll for the entire group.
Roll dice the 50 times and record the sum of the dice each time the dice is rolled.
Each person should display the information you have collected in the form of a histogram using grid paper. The following link will give you an idea how to set up your histogram dice.
