The faculty and staff at Lakeview Middle School truly believe that through their hard work and efforts, the students that they encounter will make the world a better place to live in the future.
Amy Burns 6th grade Language Arts
Mrs. Burns attended and graduated from Berea High School in Greenville, Anderson College and Furman University. She has her Bachelors of Art and her Masters of Art. She likes computers, old-time music, playing various musical instruments, contradancing, her family life and reading. She dislikes overbearing people, cooked spinach and cleaning house. Prior to teaching Language Arts at Lakeview Middle School, she was a L.D. Resource teacher, L.D. self contained teacher, EH teachers, and a middle school science teacher. She has taught at Sans Souci Elementary, Duncan Chapel Elementary, Traveler's Rest High School and Lakeview Middle School.
Rhonda Folmer Administrative Assistant
Mrs. Folmer has been at Lakeview Middle School for 13 years. She was a teacher at the school for 8 years and has spent the last 5 years as an Administrative Assistant. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio many years ago. She is married and has two children. She earned her undergraduate degree from The University of Cincinnati and her Masters Degree from Furman University. She earned her plus 30 certification in 1994. She enjoys playing golf, reading and shopping.
Cindy Gibson 6th Grade Math
Mrs. Gibson has been teaching at Lakeview Middle School for 13 years. Her entire teaching career has been at Lakeview. She earned her Master's + 30 degree from Furman University. She was the Student Council advisor for 5 years. In 1996 she married and became Mrs. Gibson, but prior to that she was Ms. Cox. She enjoys calligraphy, embossing and other crafts, collecting antique furniture and silver jewelry and working on home improvement projects.
Sharon Golembesky 8th Grade Language Arts
Mrs. Golembesky married Tony Golembesky in 1993. She attended Francis Marion University in Florence, SC. She has a cat named Max. Her hobbies include writing poetry, reading mysteries, collecting antiques, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Beth Huguley 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Resource
Ms. Huguley is a product of Greenville County Schools and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She has earned her Masters in Education and also a Masters in Supervision and Administration. She has been teaching for 18 years, 9 of which have been at Lakeview Middle School. She has three beautiful nieces and 2 handsome nephews.
Gidget Palladino 7th Grade Math
Mrs. Palladino is a graduate of Clemson University. She is the Greenville High School Dance Team Coach and is learning how to sew. She has been married for 2 1/2 years and is extremely excited about the arrival of her first child this February. She loves teaching 7th grade math.
Brenda Reece 6th Grade Math
Mrs. Reece has been teaching for 24 years, but this is her first year at Lakeview Middle School. She is married and has two children and two grandchildren. She is looking forward to an outstanding year at Lakeview Middle School.
Ronald Sharps 6the Grade Language Arts
Mr. Sharps grew up in the mountains of West Virginia. He earned is B.S. and M.S. degrees from Bob Jones University. He has been teaching since 1974 and has been teaching at Lakeview Middle School since 1993. He is involved with church youth groups and camps and has coacked several state championship teams in volleyball, basketball, baseball and soccer. He believes that God has been good to him and has given him a real purpose for living and serving.
Elizabeth Smith 8th Grade Math
Mrs. Smith was raised in a Navy family, living on both coasts and in Europe as a child. She studied International Relations at Pomona College in Los Angeles and has graduate degrees in Russian and Russian Studies. After many years of work as a political aide and as a translator, she moved to South Carolina with her family and returned to school to study math at Furman. In addition to teaching, she chairs the Lakeview Math department and is involved in church and family activities.
