My experience began with an interest in how to use technology, both
graphing calculators and computers, to change the way I and other teachers teach in
order to provide more learning opportunities for our students in the high
school where I was teaching. 1990 was when I was 'hooked.' Since then I've
moved to middle school and then elementary, from the math classroom to the computer lab and now to full-time professional development. My special interest has
become how to use The Geometer's Sketchpad in the elementary classroom. This
week I hope to learn more about calculators, palm pilots, and computer
software in addition to thinking more about professional development for teachers who
work in the elementary grades.
