| Why |
I've spent the last four years helping out with the design and
development of the National Library of Virtual Manipulatives. In
December I completed my dissertation study which involved the
development and evaluation of an authoring tool that lets teachers
build online lessons by using existing mathlets. I've taught a
couple of semesters of College Algebra as well as an online course
for an instructional technology MS program. In the fall I will be
teaching a class titled Computer Aided Mathematics for Secondary
Teachers. During the ToolFest I will be working to create, find,
and refine good examples of technology assisted lessons for
secondary math. Specific technologies I will be working with
include Scientific Calculators, Spreadsheets, Palm Pilots,
Geometer's Sketchpad, Mathlets, and Maple.
