Welcome to the Republic of Yucca, the domain and range of Ken Williams, President for Life. As the Republic grows, so may the fortune of the President for Life.
These are a couple of things I do:
I graduated from Swarthmore College in 1996, and then worked full-time at the Math Forum. Now I'm in a different part of the country, but I still do some contract-based work for them. I'm a programmer and administrator for Dr. Math, which is just one of the great things the Forum does. Plus, working for something called "The Forum" makes me feel a little bit like Batman.
It's a neat little service at the Math Forum. Students from around the world can write in with math questions, and if they're lucky our team of experts (mathematicians, math college students, math teachers) will write them back with help. I and a couple of friends started the service in November 1994, and now it's pretty huge. The private backside of the operation is the Triage Area, which you'd need a password to access.
We formed when I was a junior in high school, and we're still pretty excited about playing music together. Andy, Jesse and I have pursued music in quite different ways and that makes playing together pretty neat.
I got involved with Perl a while back. Here's a tutorial on creating Perl modules.
Make sure you check out my lurky-nurky Composers Timeline.
