Web Workshop Ideas
This reference page was designed as an introduction to the Web for the
teachers at my middle
school. As I chose links, I attempted to find sites that would appeal to
a variety of interests. All of the sites selected are collections of pages
with links organized by educational topic.
I use this page to show teachers new to the Internet some possibilities for
finding lesson plans, resources, and potential collaborators. I start by
pointing out two things: 1) the blue hypertext, and 2) how to use the 'Home'
button at the top of the Netscape screen. I encourage teachers to continue
browsing any links that they find interesting.
I keep jargon to a minimum throughout the workshop. When asked, I respond to
a technical question, but my primary objective is to make this an enjoyable
and non-threatening experience for everyone involved.
